We don’t need statistics or illustrations to convince us that we live in a culture that is very much divided to its core. The early church wrestled with the new things God was doing in their day through Jesus. It had long been held that God was for one group of people. Jesus came and showed that God is for everyone, and as the Church began to live that truth people came to faith from many unexpected places. What would it mean today if Christians took their ministry of reconciliation with the utmost seriousness? We can’t answer that for the whole country, but we can answer it for ourselves. Let us be led by the Spirit in the words of Ephesians 2:14-22, as we consider ways to live deeply formed lives by seeking to be peacemakers who reconcile.
