When you add a new practice to your regular routine it can sure feel like work. Changing your eating habits, working out or even walking. Starting new routines takes discipline and perseverance. Spiritual formation can oftentimes seem like these activities, the hard work of adding a new habit. But what we are considering in seeking to live deeply formed lives is stepping deeper into a relationship with Jesus. Think back to a time when you were in a fresh romantic relationship. Did it seem like hard work to call your sweetheart? Was it a task to go to the movies or catch a bite to eat? How can we fall into love with God in fresh ways? Can the practices of a deeply formed life be new and exciting for us? Let’s see what the Spirit has for us with John 15:1-8.
