How does a weary world rejoice? Our scriptures this week suggest the importance of the wilderness in the journey of faith. What we could read into that is if we are going to make way for the way of the Lord in our hearts and lives we need to make sure that we make space apart from the hustle and bustle, to be able to hear God’s call in the wilderness. The volume blares the news of the day all around us. If we want to rejoice in the midst of a weary world we need to make sure the noise isn’t drowning out the Good News Jesus is speaking. Mark 1:1-8 and Isaiah 40:1-11 will help guide our hearts in worship.
