The Apostles eagerly awaited the gift of the Holy Spirit after the resurrected Jesus had ascended. They didn’t fully know the way that the Spirit would impart love, joy, peace, patience and the like, but how could they not anticipate that what Jesus promised would be better than his physical presence with them? As they received the power of God in such fullness that it overflowed from their lives into the world, nothing has been the same. We are promised the same power. How do we live faith filled lives in response? We will naturally be faithful in giving the love that God’s Spirit gives us.
