More than ¼ of Jesus’s parables were about material resources, and about 15% of what we have from his preaching was as well. This is an important part of why Christians teach that everything we have is a gift from God. Jesus wants us to see our finances and other material blessings as ways God is trying to pull us closer, but also for how it can keep us away from a heart that is focused on God’s love.
