Puppet Ministry
Hidden Hands is the puppet ministry of Springville First United Methodist Church. Their goal is to have fun spreading the Word of God through humor and puppets.
Hidden Hands appears at worship services about four or five times a year. The group also travels to other churches. Currently the Hidden Hands Puppets ministry is looking for those who would like to participate by being a puppeteer. Most of the puppets are arm and rod puppets from 2-4 feet tall. The group makes most of its own puppets and props, and uses a portable, adjustable puppet stage that can extend up to 14 feet wide and over 8 feet in height. Most of the scripts are original, although some music and scripts are from One Way Street. Hidden Hands members attend regional and international puppet festivals sponsored by Christian puppet ministry groups.
The Hidden Hands puppet ministry team will be starting up again on Monday, October 5, at 7 p.m. in the basement puppet room. If you are in 6th grade and up and are interested new puppeteers are needed and may sign up this Sunday in the narthex at the puppet display table before both services. Any questions, please call Doris Steiner at 592-4023. We are looking forward to a new year with new puppet fun and skits!! Help us spread God’s word!
