There are clues in the gospels of how far Peter’s fall from grace was. He had promised that we would stay with Jesus, even if that meant death. We see that Peter denies Jesus three times. We see in some accounts after Jesus’ death when it talks about those present it says, “the disciples and Peter.” Today as we consider Peter’s face to face encounter with Jesus in John 21:15-25, we see what the heart to heart conversation looks like that brings him back into the right relationship with his Savior.
